Alder is the solo project of Los Angeles-based Producer/Artist David Bowick. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Music Production & Engineering, he moved out west to Los Angeles to work at the world famous Record Plant studios in Hollywood, CA. After taking in everything that he could there, he went out on his own to start playing/Producing.
David has Produced such artists and albums as Freddy & Francine’s playful EP and LP, “The Briar Patch”, Lucas Carpenter’s “The Pixelated Path”, Colin Green’s “Redstar Future Pop” and “The Odyssey”, as well as Amy LaCour, Rachel Loy, and One Wing. As a multi-instrumentalist, it’s common for David’s voice and performances to sneak their way onto everything he works on.
Alder is the soundtrack for driving your car along the beaches of California at sunset. Memorable melodies, exotic instrumentation, and tasteful amounts of that “indie” sound with pure pop/rock sensibilities, Alder will not only draw your ears, but your heart. Featured in a number of (see Discography) Alder’s often smooth sounds blend well with picture. His hearty ballad “Surrounded” won an honorable mention in the WeAreListening.com songwriter awards.
David is currently in Los Angeles performing with Alder as well as his rock band, Ocelot Robot [ocelotrobot.com].
